At Riptide, I strive to produce an exemplary Portuguese Water Dog. I am rigorous in my health testing of each dog I breed. I insist on the same high standard of health testing for each stud as I do my own. Each breed club has tests that are required for the dogs to be certified in the club.

All Riptide PWDs are health tested as per the recommendations of the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America (PWDCA) including various orthopedic testing via the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, which holds a database with testing results found here OFA. The PWDCA has an excellent series of pages regarding health testing. I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the site and those pages in particular. It is a good idea to understand what goes in to breeding a quality PWD.
